Independent investigations into crimes committed during The Troubles

Sir Iain Livingstone is a former chief constable who is in charge of a team of officers conducting a series of independent historical investigations.

He took charge of Kenova in November 2023 from former lead Jon Boutcher who was made Chief Constable of the Police Service Northern Ireland (PSNI). Kenova is a complex and wide-ranging investigation which was launched to investigate allegations of murder, kidnap and torture dating back to the 1970s.
