Members of the independent Steering Group (ISG) met on 5 September to discuss the new investigations taken on by Kenova.
Members discussed the best approach for the families to the investigation into the death of Jean Smyth-Campbell in 1972 and the murders of three RUC officers at Kinnego Embankment in 1982.
The group agreed to continue in performing their ISG function for each of those cases.
The group also discussed the Barnard Judgement of 4 July 2019, and agreed that if Kenova lead Jon Boutcher was to be asked to lead on the Glenanne Gang Series of cases they would, again, continue their function on the ISG acting as a critical friend for those cases.
The next meeting of the ISG is scheduled for early 2020.
